InScribe Education Partners with Southern New Hampshire University to Advance Student Engagement and Belonging

InScribe’s digital community platform and strategic guidance support SNHU’s efforts to cultivate student connection and persistence.

Denver, CO and Manchester, NH - August 19, 2025InScribe Education, a provider of digital communities and online engagement advisory services, has partnered with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), one of the nation’s most innovative leaders in online education, to strengthen student connection and foster a greater sense of belonging through scalable, student-led digital communities. The partnership is designed to help improve key outcomes such as persistence, satisfaction, and overall online student success.

For some online learners, forming authentic peer relationships can be difficult. Without additional spaces for intentional interaction, some students can feel isolated—an experience that can negatively impact their studies and overall well-being. InScribe helps institutions address these challenges by combining its community-driven platform with collaborative engagement strategies tailored to each institution’s needs.

“At SNHU, we are committed to creating community no matter where our learners are, and we are always improving systems to meet their evolving needs,” said Meagan LaMarca, Dean of Students at SNHU. “Our new online community platform through InScribe provides more opportunities for our online learners to get involved, strengthen connections with peers, instructors and dedicated support staff, and feel a true sense of belonging that can help keep them on track to reach their academic goals.”

The platform’s initial rollout at SNHU has been made available to its population of around 200,000 online learners and focuses on online student clubs, affinity groups, and a selection of academic communities, giving learners access to always-on digital spaces where they can gather, collaborate, and lead. These spaces are integrated with the university’s D2L Brightspace LMS, student portal, and the InScribe mobile app—offering flexible, accessible ways for students to engage beyond the classroom.

Since launch in April, early data shows strong momentum:

  • Platform usage has increased by 65% month-over-month, signaling growing demand for these connection points.

  • Tens of thousands of students have engaged, with over 30% actively participating in conversations—not just observing.

  • Nearly 80% of users rate the platform as very or somewhat easy to use.

  • Student feedback highlights a stronger sense of connection and belonging within the SNHU community.

  • InScribe’s reporting tools enable the university to track student behavior and adapt its community management strategy to respond in a more timely and meaningful way.

In addition to its technology, InScribe acts as a strategic partner, supporting SNHU with a phased rollout aligned to institutional goals and evolving student needs.

“True engagement doesn’t happen by chance. It requires thoughtful design, intentional strategy, and the right tools,” said Katy Kappler, Co-Founder and CEO of InScribe Education. “We’re proud to support SNHU as they build a more connected, data-informed, and equitable student experience.”

InScribe’s platform is built to grow with the institution—scaling from social and affinity-based groups to academic programs and support services. Each community is customized to reflect SNHU’s unique learning model, culture, and student population.

SNHU plans to extend access to its campus student population later in the academic year to create a unified digital ecosystem that supports learners across all modalities from orientation through graduation. The long-term vision is a connected, inclusive, and sustainable experience that promotes persistence, fosters belonging, and supports student success at every stage.
